Because every family deserves affordable housing

A fundamental principle

At LÜDIQ, we firmly believe that no Quebec family should spend more than 25% of their income on housing. This affordability threshold gives parents some financial breathing room and allows them to invest in what really matters: their children’s development.

Today’s reality

Too many families spend 30%, 40%, sometimes even 50% of their income on housing. This puts enormous pressure on family budgets and forces parents to make impossible choices between rent, food, children’s leisure activities, and savings.

What is the AT CHILD’S HEIGHT FUND?

Our innovative solution

AT CHILD’S HEIGHT FUND is a financial support mechanism created by LÜDIQ to bridge the gap between what a family can reasonably afford (25% of its income) and the actual cost of housing.

Subject to the availability of funds

Who is it for?

This fund is specifically intended for families who:

  • Earn too much for traditional social housing, but not enough for the market-rate housing
  • Find themselves in that “gray area” where government assistance is not available

How it works

01.

Simple and transparent calculation

  1. We assess 25% of your family’s gross income
  2. We calculate the difference between that and the actual cost of rent at LÜDIQ
  3. AT CHILD’S HEIGHT FUND covers this difference, depending on the availability of funds

Concrete example:

  • Family with an annual income of $60,000
  • 25% of income = $15,000 annually ($1,250/month)
  • LÜDIQ 3-bedroom rent = $1,317 /month
  • The Fund covers the difference, depending on the availability of funds
02.

Eligibility criteria

Who is eligible for the fund?

  • Families with children aged 0 to 17
  • Family income between $ 36,500 and $76,700 annually (thresholds adjusted according to family size)
  • Commitment to participate in the community life of LÜDIQ

Ongoing assessment

Family income is reassessed annually to adjust support according to changes in your situation. If your income increases, your contribution gradually increases. If it decreases, the fund provides you with more support.

03.
