Our mission, vision and values

Our mission: Building for children

By developing affordable and stimulating living environments where children are at the heart of everything.

Through:

Accessible family housing outside the speculative marke
Communities where children grow up surrounded by love
Environments that give parents time for what really matters
Living environments where neighbors become an extended family of choice

Our vision

We dream of a future where every child grows up in a stable, stimulating environment designed for their development.

To make this vision a reality by 2045, LÜDIQ aspires to:

Become a leader in affordable family housing in Quebec
Benefit from the best network of partners who are experts in child welfare and development
Build LÜDIQs in 25 cities with 50,000 or more inhabitants
Create housing for 45,000 people (10,000 families)

Affordability goal:

25%

of income for housing

Because no Quebec family should spend more than 25% of their income on housing, LÜDIQ offers to bridge the gap through its At Child’s Height fund for families who do not qualify for Quebec the rent supplement program (PSL). *Certain conditions apply, subject to fund availability.

Our values

Education

  • We believe that learning happens everywhere, not just at school.
  • We integrate educational spaces into our living environments: stimulating playgrounds, creative workshops, community gardens, and shared libraries. We encourage intergenerational exchanges and create opportunities for spontaneous learning that nurture children’s natural curiosity.

Equity

  • Every child deserves the same opportunities to thrive, regardless of their family’s socioeconomic background.
  • We develop mixed communities where income diversity enriches interactions. Our stable and affordable rents, outside the speculative market, allow families of all backgrounds to build a solid future in a quality environment.

Mutual support

  • We cultivate a village spirit where everyone takes care of each other and contributes to the collective well-being.
  • We create gathering spaces that encourage natural encounters, shared services, and mutual support. We encourage community initiatives that strengthen ties between neighbors and provide an authentic social safety net for families.

Innovation

  • We are reinventing family housing by placing children at the heart of every design decision.
  • We explore new architectural, social, and financial approaches to create living environments that meet the real needs of today’s families. We dare to rethink housing as a catalyst for fulfillment rather than a mere necessity.

Resilience

  • We create communities that enable families to navigate life’s challenges with strength and serenity.
  • We build stable, sustainable environments where affordable rents protect against market fluctuations, where community support provides a strong social safety net, and where children develop resilience in a secure setting. Our villages become havens of stability that strengthen families’ confidence in the future.

Efficiency

  • Because time is precious for families and housing affordability is crucial, we optimize every aspect of our operations.
  • We design environments where essential services are within easy reach, where shared spaces reduce individual costs, and where collective organization frees up time for what matters most: parenting. We apply this same efficiency to our construction methods, favoring innovative and economical approaches that maintain housing affordability without compromising quality and family well-being.
